large fundal varix in a patient with epigastric pain
25 yrs old man presented by epigastric pain ,he is not cirrhotic, during EGD a large fundal varix was accidentally discovered and it bleeded in front of our eyes with a spurter while straining during the procedure. sclerotherapy was done and bleeding stopped.
the patient is diagnosed as portal vein thrombosis.
the slide shows the varix with signs of active bleeding ( arrow )
