fiogf49gjkf0d Dr Evan Fogel is a native of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. After obtaining his Masters of Science degree in Pharmacology from the University of Toronto, he completed medical school, Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship at the same institution.
Dr Fogel did a third tier fellowship in Therapeutic ERCP and sphincter of Oddi manometry in 1996 at Indiana University. He joined the faculty the following year, and currently is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at Indiana University.
His patient care special interests include endoscopic management of idiopathic pancreatitis and tissue sampling in suspected malignant biliary obstruction.
Dr Fogel is a member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and American College of Gastroenterology.
He has authored or co-authored 41 manuscripts, book chapters and reviews, published in several leading journals in his field. In addition, he is Assistant Editor (USA) for the journal Endoscopy, and is on the journal review committee of several other gastroenterology journals.
