fiogf49gjkf0d Dr Francis K L Chan is currently Associate Professor at the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics, Prince of Wales Hospital, the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Dr Chan attended the Chinese University of Hong Kong, where he obtained his MBChB with honors in 1988. After completing his GI training at the Prince of Wales Hospital, he received further training at the Gastrointestinal Research Laboratory in the University of Calgary, Canada.
In 1997, Dr Chan was appointed Associate Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He was awarded the degree of Doctor of Medicine in 1998.
His particular research interests are NSAID- and aspirin- induced gastrointestinal toxicity, peptic ulcer bleeding, H. pylori infection, gastric carcinogenesis, and colorectal cancer screening.
Dr Chan is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.
He is on the Editorial Board for Alimentary Pharmacology and Therapeutics, and Digestive Endoscopy. In addition, he is the International Associate Editor for the American Journal of Gastroenterology.
