fiogf49gjkf0d Dr Moises Guelrud is the Clinical Professor in Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine, a full-time staff member in the Adult Gastroenterology Department, as well as Director of Advanced Endoscopic Therapy, and Co-Director of the Pancreatic Center at Tufts-New England Medical Center, Boston, Massachusetts.
Dr Guelrud was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela, in August 1942. He attended the Medical School at the Universidad Central de Venezuela in 1965. Dr Guelrud followed this with an internship (1965-66), and residence in Medicine (1966-67) and Fellowship in Gastroenterology (1968-69) at the Hospital Universitario, Caracas, Venezuela.
He was a Research Fellowship in Mount Sinai Hospital, New York from 1969 to 1971, and an Assistant Professor in Medicine and Chief of the Gastroenterology Department at The Hospital General del Oeste, Caracas Venezuela from 1974 to 2001.
Dr Guelrud's major research interests include diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP in children and adults, Sphincter of Oddi manometry in children and in adults, endoscopic diagnosis and treatment of Barrett’s esophagus, and magnification endoscopy and chromoendoscopy.
He has published over 170 papers and a book entitled "ERCP in Pediatric Practice: Diagnosis and Treatment". Isis Medical Media LTD, Oxford University Press, UK, 1997.
